Community Guidelines

Unofficial Platform — SSUET Connect is an independent, community-run platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representative of Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology. These guidelines reflect the values of our volunteer community, not those of the university.
Our Principles
SSUET Connect is a space for learning, networking, and professional growth. Every member is expected to contribute to a respectful and inclusive environment.
1. Be Respectful
- Treat every member with dignity, regardless of department, batch year, or background.
- No personal attacks, harassment, bullying, or intimidation.
- No discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, or political views.
2. Keep It Professional
- This is a professional networking platform. Keep conversations constructive.
- No spam, chain messages, or unsolicited promotions.
- Job postings must be genuine and relevant to the SSUET community.
3. Protect Privacy
- Do not share other members' personal information without consent.
- Do not screenshot or share private messages publicly.
- Respect profile privacy settings.
4. No Harmful Content
- No hate speech, threats, or violent content.
- No sexually explicit or NSFW content.
- No content that promotes illegal activities.
- No impersonation of individuals or the university.
5. Academic Integrity
- Sharing study resources is encouraged. Sharing exam papers or answers for ongoing assessments is not.
- Help each other learn — don't enable cheating.
6. Enforcement
Violations may result in:
- Warning — A private reminder of the guidelines.
- Content removal — The offending post, comment, or message is removed.
- Temporary suspension — Account access is restricted for a period.
- Permanent ban — The account is permanently disabled.
The severity of action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation. Decisions are made by the volunteer moderation team.
7. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you may appeal by emailing support@ssuet.com with the subject line "Moderation Appeal". Appeals are reviewed within 7 business days.
8. Reporting
If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, use the "Report" button on any post, comment, or profile. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and handled confidentially.
